This is my artist statement for this exhibition:
Welcome to my latest exhibition, It's Only Natural, where each piece is a journey into the intricate interplay between nature and the craft of painting. My work seeks to capture the subtle, often unnoticed wonders that surround us, encouraging viewers to see the world through a lens of curiosity and reverence. Each brushstroke is a heartfelt homage to the intricate beauty and divine harmony found in God's creation.
As an artist, I am fascinated by the textures, patterns, and colours found in the natural world. My paintings are an exploration of these elements, each one a study in contrasts and harmony. The delicate balance between light and shadow, the interplay of vibrant hues and muted tones, and the rhythmic patterns found in nature all serve as my inspiration.
In this exhibition, you will find a collection of works that range from intimate studies of flowers to expressive experimental-style landscapes and stylized fauna. My artistic process is a blend of intuition and technical skill, allowing me to explore different styles and approaches while staying true to my vision. I work primarily with watercolours, allowing me to achieve the detail and transparency required to reflect the intricacy of my floral subjects, while the fluidity of watercolour is also perfect for capturing the ephemeral qualities of light and atmosphere in vistas.
Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey. I hope that amidst the chaos of modern life, my artworks serve as a sanctuary of peace and inspiration - to find solace in the depiction of the natural world, marvel at its complexity, and celebrate its enduring presence in our lives.
