Colour pencils are a perfect medium to depict human faces. Learn how to achieve smooth blending of skin colours, gradations, edge and tonal changes. Close-up studies of facial parts will also be included to gain a better understanding of how to render these difficult features. Or choose the option of animal portraits if that is your preference!

WHAT TO BRING:
A large range of artist quality coloured pencils (they can be water-soluble). Make sure to include flesh colours.
Pencil and kneadable eraser
Very smooth board, A3 size or thereabouts to rest your paper on
Soft brush for brushing away pencil crumbs
Quality pencil sharpener. Jan will bring 3 of hers which you are welcome to use
One sheet of graphite transfer paper. Masking tape.
A sheet of quality paper A4 or A3 size. Either Hot Press (Smooth) 100% cotton watercolour paper or Stonehenge paper or quality drawing cartridge at least 240 gsm.
Totally Optional: PanPastels, but only if you already own some.
References: Jan will also have plenty of copyright-free references to share, but you are also welcome to bring your own choice.
