These colour wheel kits are now available to download as a digital PDF that you can print at home. For a printed version which can be shipped, please see HERE.
The colour wheel kits are designed for Prismacolor Premier colour pencils; of which 150 are available today (as of 2025). This 150 plus version shows the current 150 set of pencils PLUS many discontinued colours.
For a colour wheel kit containing only the current available pencils see HERE.
Please note though, that black, white and the range of greys is not included in this wheel. A chart accompanies the Prismacolor Colour Wheel which gives the manufacturer's assigned colour name and number to each pencil used. These are coloured in each numbered section on each lettered ring of the wheel for reference.
The colours are positioned around the wheel using the CMY primaries; Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, with red, blue and green spaced evenly in between. The CMY colour system was chosen as it is a modern and improved version of colour wheels of the past.

DESIGNED IN AUSTRALIA BY JAN LAWNIKANIS
This colour wheel kit uses Prismacolor Premier colour pencils; of which 150 are available today (as of 2025). Discontinued colours are included in this wheel as well. Please note though, that black, white and the range of greys is not included in this wheel. A chart accompanies the Prismacolor Colour Wheel which gives the manufacturer's assigned colour name and number to each pencil used. These are coloured in each numbered section on each lettered ring for reference.
All colour charts were coloured by hand by me and no Ai was used to create any part of this publication.
The colours are positioned around the wheel using the CMY primaries; Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, with red, blue and green spaced evenly in between. The CMY colour system was chosen as it is a modern and improved version of colour wheels of the past.
Unlike most colour wheels, this version does not show colours that were mixed with blacks, whites and /or complementaries but rather, where each colour would sit perfectly on the wheel in relation to others pencils of its range. The purpose is to have a visual aid when choosing colours for projects. It is easy to see, for example, which pencil hues are warmer, cooler or less saturated than others by comparison, and which colours are the most similar.
Blank wheels are best if printed on artist quality cartridge paper. These are useful for artists to fill in with the pencils they own, thereby providing an essential tool for colour analysis. (Regular copy paper will still work fine though.)
Update 2/2025: I have been selling these colour wheel kits since 2012. I have just updated them as Lilac and Lavender were recently discontinued and there were requests to have a kit with only the now available colours of pencils. For the sake of those who may still own discontinued pencils from the last 20 or 30 years, this version of the wheel has many of those pencils included.
