Colour Pencils - Wet & Dry, Gold Coast, March

Finally get to use those water-soluble (aquarelle) colour pencils that you’ve been hanging onto but didn’t know how to utilise! Discover different ways of working with these pencils and how to combine them with watercolour paint to get the best results for your chosen subjects. Also learn about using solvents for non water-soluble pencils and how to establish an underlay to quicken the colouring process. After some short exercises and information, students will create a coloured pencil painting with a variety of wet and dry techniques.
Where: ‘Framed Just for You’ 122 Brisbane Rd, Labrador, Gold Coast. Air-conditioned studio with no stairs and all amenities. Parking directly outside.

What to bring:
A range of artist quality aquarelle coloured pencils plus any other professional colour pencils you may already own.
Pencil and kneadable eraser. Very smooth board, A3 size or thereabouts to rest your paper on. Soft brush for brushing away pencil crumbs.
Quality pencil sharpener. Jan will bring 3 of hers which you are welcome to use.
One sheet of graphite transfer paper.
All your usual watercolour painting supplies, plus one sheet of 300gsm 100% cotton watercolour paper in smooth or medium texture, at least A4 size. Alternatively, you may choose a watercolour board which is perfect for these techniques.
References: Jan will bring some copyright-free references to share, but you are welcome to bring your own choice of subject.
