10-16 January
USQ McGREGOR SUMMER ARTS RETREAT, Toowoomba
Mastering the use of tone, colour, light and shadow is essential for successful watercolour paintings. Learn how to create atmospheric effects for a variety of subjects while discovering the differences in natural and artificial light. Time will be devoted to a lesson on setting up a still-life as a painting project, as well as insight into how to pitch paintings in different keys. Other lessons include the themes of water, skies, reflections, flora and fauna. With a combination of theory, demonstrations and individual projects, participants will gain new skills for manipulating subject matter to depict different moods and effects.
